Missing Dog Nami Reunited With Family After Community Search Near Washington Lake

A Washington family is celebrating after their beloved dog Nami was safely reunited with them following a stressful two-day disappearance during a camping trip.

According to the family, Nami — a heeler mix — went missing after slipping loose from her harness while camping near Rimrock Lake in Yakima County, Washington.

Desperate to find their dog, the owners shared Nami’s information through PawBoost and local community groups, hoping someone in the area might spot her.

Thankfully, the search quickly turned into a heartwarming community effort.

A woman named Amy eventually found Nami near Rimrock Lake and contacted the family through PawBoost after recognizing the missing dog alert online.

“The whole community rallied to help,” Nami’s owner shared after the emotional reunion. “I felt such relief when I saw Amy’s email saying she had found Nami.”

Workers and volunteers near the lake also helped keep Nami safe until her family could arrive and bring her home.

After two anxious days apart, the adventurous pup was finally reunited with her owners, who expressed overwhelming gratitude to everyone involved in the rescue effort.

“Thank you to Amy and the crew working out by the lake who took Nami in and notified me,” the owner wrote. “She is back home, and we are so thankful.”

Stories like Nami’s continue to highlight how online pet recovery networks and supportive local communities can play a major role in helping lost animals safely return home.
