An urgent search is underway in Staffordshire Moorlands after a young Romanian rescue dog named Chiuvana disappeared earlier this week.
The female Collie Cross went missing on May 21 near Boundary in Cheadle, Staffordshire, with her last reported sighting taking place on Daisy Bank near Boundary Cheadle in the ST10 area.
Chiuvana is described as brown and cream in color with a distinctive white front right paw.
According to her owner, Tina, the young rescue dog is extremely nervous around people and should not be chased if spotted.
“She is a Romanian rescue, so she is terrified of people,” the listing explains. “She may come for food.”
Because frightened rescue dogs can panic easily and run further away when approached, local residents are being urged to stay calm, avoid chasing her, and instead report sightings immediately.
Chiuvana’s microchip status is currently unknown, increasing concern as searches continue throughout the area.
Community members in and around Stoke-on-Trent are being asked to check gardens, sheds, farmland, and quiet hiding spots where a scared puppy may seek shelter.
The missing dog appeal was created on May 23 as hopes remain high for Chiuvana’s safe return home.
