Brendan Hunt is creating the Beggin’ XI, a dog soccer team inspired by Ted Lasso. Learn how pet owners can enter their dogs and win exciting prizes.
Brendan Hunt, the beloved star of the hit series Ted Lasso, is bringing his passion for soccer and dogs together in a fun new campaign. The 53-year-old actor has partnered with Purina Beggin’ to create a unique dog soccer team called the Beggin’ XI — inspired by the famous “Diamond Dogs” from the show.
The campaign celebrates the partnership between Beggin’ treats and U.S. Soccer. Dog owners can enter their pets into the contest by submitting a photo that shows their dog’s soccer skills or team spirit. From all entries, 11 finalists will be selected, and one lucky winner will earn the title of “Top Dog.”
The grand prize includes a special flyaway experience to attend a live U.S. Soccer match. Even better, every participant will receive a bag of treats, making sure no pup goes home empty-pawed.
Hunt shared that he is looking for dogs that can show their athletic personality through photos. Speed, strength, and energy are qualities that could help a dog stand out. He also joked that the contest focuses on pictures instead of videos, giving all pet owners an equal chance to compete.
Although Hunt does not currently own a dog, he grew up with pets and has always loved animals. His connection to soccer began when he moved to Amsterdam in 1999, where he developed a deep passion for the sport. Since then, soccer has remained his favorite game for over two decades.
Hunt believes soccer is the perfect sport for dogs because they naturally love running and chasing balls. Unlike other sports that require objects to be carried, soccer allows dogs to enjoy movement freely and safely.
The Beggin’ XI campaign combines fun, community spirit, and love for pets. It encourages dog owners across the country to celebrate their furry friends and share their energy with the world.
Entries are open for a limited time, and pet lovers are encouraged to participate before the deadline.
