A newly arrived rescue dog has gone missing in Chelmsford after slipping out of her harness and collar, prompting an urgent appeal for sightings.
Hootie, a light tan and brown female dog, disappeared on May 25 near the Esso garage on Princes Road in the CM2 area of Chelmsford, Essex.
According to her listing, Hootie is an adult dog who is extremely nervous and should not be chased if spotted.
“She is newly arrived into the UK — very nervous,” the listing states, adding that the frightened dog managed to slip both her harness and collar before running off.
Hootie is microchipped, but rescuers and her owner are asking the public to remain calm and avoid approaching her directly, as nervous dogs can panic and flee further when chased.
Anyone in the area is being encouraged to keep an eye out for the missing dog and report sightings immediately to help bring her home safely.
The appeal was created on May 25 by her owner, Christine, who hopes the community can help locate the frightened rescue dog before she comes to harm.
